This is especially difficult to know for sure if you bought or your vehicle used. Sure, there are other hints like dashboard trailer controls, however, your best bet is contacting the dealer or manufacturer. When you buy preowned, you can use this research along with looking up the vehicles VIN history to know what (if anything) has been modified. Maybe a previous owner installed improved parts or upgraded the hitch.
